Vanessa Leaver
Hi, I’m Vanessa Leaver
Speech Pathologist | Executive Coach | Mama to three
I’m a coffee- loving- speech pathologist in the daily rhythm of motherhood with three girls, 6yrs old and below.
My goal is to help you simplify and strengthen the skills that make life smoother—like planning, organising, managing time, setting goals, prioritising, and problem-solving. These are the executive functioning skills that drive how we get things done.
Let’s Talk Functioning
Supporting Your Young Persons Skills
Jayden, a bright 14 - year-old student is beginning to struggle with keeping up in school. Homework piles up, and he often feels stuck on where to start. Jayden’s parents notice his frustration and want to help him get back on track. He has negative self talk and has missed deadlines on the latest assignments.
Together we work on the foundation of his executive skills and identify his strengths in order to strengthen areas of development.
By focusing on executive functioning, we build Jayden’s skills in organisation, planning, and problem-solving.
He learns how to create a study routine that works for him, break down assignments into clear steps, and approach tasks with more confidence.
In the process Jayden learns how to manage disappointment, reflective thinking and the means
Soon, Jayden’s ’s grades improve, but more than that he see’s his workload clearly which reduces his stress and builds his confidence as a learner.
Sharpening Adult Skills
Meet Sarah, a busy professional and mama. Between work deadlines, managing a household, and helping her kids with schoolwork, she often feels overwhelmed. Despite using planners and setting goals, she struggles with juggling it all.
Together, we work on the underlying fine-tuning of her executive functioning skills.
We dive into practical strategies for time management, prioritisation, and streamlining her daily tasks by breaking larger goals into manageable steps.
We identify why procrastination sets in to help Sarah manage realistic routines.
As she begins to manage her time more effectively and reduce distractions her stress levels decrease.
As a result she has more time not solely for tasks but as quality time with her family and in turn her personal time too.
